President
Jennifer Bath MSN, RN, AGCNS-BC, CEN, TCRN
President
Jen is a trauma CNS at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She obtained her doctorate at Radford University. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she has experience serving as President of the ENA in both Pennsylvania and Virginia, Secretary of the Tau Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, as Director at Large on the VNA, and many others. She is passionate about advancing the role of the CNS in Virginia.
Erin Smith DNP, RN, ACCNS-AG, CCRN-CMC
Past President
Erin is a Adult-Gerontology Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist and clinical ethics consultant at Sentara Leigh Hospital. She graduated with her BSN from Binghamton University in 1996. Her early nursing experience was in med-surg and critical care. After receiving a MS in Exercise and Sport Sciences from Ithaca College, she worked in outpatient cardiology and managed UCLA's cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program. She relocated to Virginia and Worked at Sentara Norfolk General's CICU from 2009-2021 and has since transitioned to Sentara Leigh Hospital's ICU. She is an active member of the hospital research council, ethics committee, and hospital and system critical care practice councils. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University where she earned her MSN and Doctor of Nursing Practice. Erin became a member of the VACNS in 2018 and served as legislative co-chair in 2020. She is actively working on an Eastern Virginia Medical School grant-funded research project related to geriatric goals of care in the acute care setting.

Sheron has been a CNS for over 10 years and currently works at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. Her vision is bringing CNS together to create better healthcare for our country’s diverse population.

Treasurer
Holly has been a CNS for 2 years and currently works as a Lecturer at Old Dominion University. As a native of Virginia Beach and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth and Old Dominion Universities, she is committed to serving the Virginia community and the healthcare leaders striving to make it better for all.

Shelly is a CNS at Bon Secours Mercy Health – St Mary’s Hospital. She is an Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist who practices as a CNS with the Program for Diabetes Health She is passionate about assisting in managing complex hospitalized patients living with diabetes and supporting them in continuing to manage their chronic disease. She has been a practicing CNS for almost 3 years and is ready to represent and add her voice to support the working Virginia CNSs throughout the state.
