What is CIRCAA? A practical, case-based, interprofessional learning experience. The curriculum enhances the ability of clinicians and educators to help patients, learners, care providers, and interprofessional teams to care for people aging with complex medical conditions. The curriculum is guided by the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) competencies, as well as discipline-specific competencies, and the Hartford Foundation’s “4Ms” Framework for age-friendly health systems.
Who is CIRCAA for?

Our Scholars come from many professions, including medicine, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, social work, gerontology, and case management. They work in clinical, non-clinical, and academic settings.
What are the program requirements?

Engaged attendance of at least 75% of the monthly sessions and retreats. Complete short assignments each month in preparation for meeting activities and discussion. Complete and present a capstone project related to the work you do.

What is the capstone project? Scholars will work with a VGEC faculty mentor and their fellow Scholars on a capstone project. They will develop, implement, and evaluate either an interprofessional curricular or practice-based quality improvement project action plan, incorporating the content and experience provided by the program.

What is the cost? $1,000 registration fee. This all-inclusive fee includes CME credits, hotel stay and meals for three retreats. A limited number of scholarships are available. Contact ksivey@vcu.edu for details.https://vcoa.chp.vcu.edu/vgec/circaa/
